Blog Overview

Thank you for visiting! We are excited to showcase our research, engage readers, and educated people on black-white relationships in popular culture. As part of a final project for our Black World Studies / American Studies course, we have created this blog with the intentions to analyze black-white relationships in the media, discuss stereotypes, and answer the looming question: does popular culture define media, or does media dictate popular culture? Before we dive any further into our project, we would like to send a special thanks to our Professor, Dr. Gaskins. He has done a great job challenging us this semester and we really valued his thought provoking class discussions/lectures. In regards to the project, due to the substantial amount of available information we narrowed the scope to only cover black-white romance. Additionally, we are only analyzing the last 52 years (1960-present). The tabs at the top of the page will take you to posts and media pertaining to a decade. Enjoy the blog!
